What is the fascination that a fairy tale holds? Is it the ability of the reader's imagination to soar to worlds where mermaids live and forest creatures talk? Perhaps it is the draw of escaping this world, if only for a while. Or is it, that aside from entertainment value, a fairy tale offers an important life lesson in creative way?

The narrator of this collection of six classic fairy tales will help the reader find answers to these questions while exploring the draw of each tale. The tales of Little Red, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Alice, Thumbelina, and Rapunzel are the perfect bedtime stories to read with your child. Adults will also enjoy being reacquainted with the classic stories from childhood.

I grew up with the Disney versions of these classic stories, with their happy endings where the princess always seemed to get her prince. There's certainly nothing wrong with the always happy ending, but I enjoyed these versions much more. I suspect that this collection of tales is closer to the original version. Rediscovering these classics, that had languished in my memory, allowed my imagination to once again run wildly free to a world in which 'A good story, like love, can transform you.'

The whimsical color illustrations enhance the reader's imagination, making it even easier to be transported to a magical, wondrous realm, where pretty girls ride deer; wee, tiny girls fly on the backs of birds; and little wanderers converse with woodland wolves.
