If attending the Indy 500 is top on your bucket list, this is the very book for you. If mysteries float your boat, don't miss this one. I'm talking about Kiss the Bricks by Tammy Kaehler. If you've read Kaehler's previous four books in the Kate Reilly series, then you know you are in for a good read with her newest addition. Enjoy - and attend the Indy 500 on the printed page.

If you haven't read any of her novels, why on earth not? They are well written with all the enthusiasm of a race car driver. As a reader, you go behind the scenes at the 500. You meet other drivers as well as Kate herself. You are treated to the dubious comments made to any female driver by men who can't get it into their heads that women enjoy the thrill of the race as much as men do. Probably even more.

Kate is being compared to a woman driver by the name of PJ Rodriguez who entered the racing scene twenty-five years previously. It is believed that PJ took her own life at the Indy because she couldn't stand the pressure. Kate decides that maybe the woman was murdered. By clearing PJ's name of suicide, she hopes she will get the foul mouthed men to change their language.

You will be able to ride along with Kate as she races, and learn all that goes into putting a car and driver on that track. Kiss the Bricks is a great read. And this is from someone not interested in racing. But I surely enjoyed this book.
