What pet do her parents give Charlotte on her sixth birthday? A rock! She tries to look on the bright side - the rock's a good listener, easy to train, hypoallergenic - but she finds quite a few challenges as well. Charlotte loves her rock and she especially wishes that it could love her back. When it does, the tables are turned and her parents have some adjustments to make too! Charlotte and the Rock is a very cute story, whose antic illustrations really bring out the humor.
