While on a flight above northern Canada for EcoWatch, pilots Donovan Nash and Michael Ross nearly collide with an unexpected Boeing 737, which just misses their smaller craft. In shock, they watch the 737 crash land on a frozen lake and see someone escape from the now burning aircraft.

Risking their own lives, they rescue the woman who fled the plane – all of which begins the story of a plot to render the United States helpless so that other forces might take over the country. If it's suspense you're looking for, Seconds to Midnight is the book for you. This is the seventh in author Philip Donlay's thrillers. And he gets it right every time.

If mayhem, bloodshed, and dead bodies lying around appeals, this is your cup of tea. Throw in a little romance (very little) and relationships that are important to the flow of this tale, and you've got some very good reading. And if you promise you won't go directly to the last chapter, I'll tell you that the ending is a real cliffhanger.
