Not only will your toddler find this picture book (featuring groupings of animals) fun to look at but it will also provide names for what the animals are called when they come together in groups.

For example, you'll discover that a group of geese flying in a V formation in the sky is known as a skein while a group of squirrels is called a scurry and gather of pigs is a drove.

You might be more surprised to learn that when hedgehogs gather together you have a prickle or array and a bunch of mice goes by the name of a mischief.

Besides learning the collective names of the featured critters in this book your child will also be delighted by the renderings of the animals because the illustrations feature unusual colors and, in some instances, even skin tones akin to fabrics. This mixed media approach to the illustrations is unusual but lots of fun.

An attractive and informative picture book, A Tower of Giraffes: Animals in Groups is one you'll want to add to your home library.
