Brain Storm reads as fiction. But the author, Elaine Viets, used her own experience to weave her story around facts.

Death Investigator Angela Richman reached an ER at a local hospital complaining of blinding headaches and was told to come back tomorrow, that she was too young and fit to have a stroke. The arrogant physician was breathtakingly wrong. She suffered six strokes! Then when blood was leaking into her brain, an operation by a different doctor saved her life but left her with a long road to recovery.

Before she could bring a malpractice suit against the first doctor, he was murdered in full view of a cafeteria full of hospital employees!

Angela's self-imposed quest to uncover the murderer puts her to the test. Brain Storm by Elaine Viets chronicles her brain power as well as her physical abilities. Lots of rehab cuts into her time, but as a certified Death Inspector she feels compelled to use her knowledge to bring the killer to justice.

Behind the scenes at this hospital reads like a trashy novel. Who is sleeping with whom is almost always the topic of the day. The arrogance of some of the doctors only, I am sure, cements many of today's patients' beliefs.

Brain Storm is a good story as well as dwelling in the mind of a determined woman. More power to Elaine Viets.
