If your heart can stand a quick run through the plight that Tai Randolph faces - with a man who is still fighting the after effects of a traumatizing head injury; a cousin who is a convicted criminal serving time who has a mad on for her; a missing bag of $250,000 being sought by more than one person with little patience; GPS surveillance; and, oh yeah, a bayou full of alligators - then obtain a copy of Reckoning and Ruin by Tina Whittle. The thrill factor of this book will carry you long into the night.

Tai is a force to be reckoned with in her own right. She has the tenacity to meet any challenge but sometimes is forced to first consider the tenuous mind set of her lover. His condition is a complicated one which is described with such precision that it should make us all glad that we don't have to deal with it. Tai does so with great understanding and love.

The story takes place in Savannah with a bit in Atlanta. Tai's family ties play a big part of this tale she surely doesn't have a loving family group. Her imprisoned cousin Jasper is no prize-winner and one to fear. Even though incarcerated, his influence reaches a long way.

Reckoning and Ruin is the fifth of Tina Whittle's series. I found it a little difficult getting into the story, trying to catch up with where Tai was left in the fourth. But it's worth hanging in there. Good book.
