Join Detective Chief Inspector Lou Smith, Sergeant Sam Hollands and the rest of the Briarstone police force as they tackle another case. Located forty miles outside of London, Briarstone has plenty of law enforcement problems to deal with.

In this instance a raid on a local brothel turns up a young girl who went missing on a Greek holiday a decade earlier. Smith was involved in the original investigation but assigns Hollands to work with the young woman to try to persuade her to share information that might shed some light on what is obviously the group of international traffickers who obviously abducted her.

How did the girl, of all things, end up back in her home town? This is one of the main questions the police want an answer to. Briarstone has its fair share of murders and gang problems, but this takes the local crime scene to a whole different level.

Reluctant to share what she knows, the young woman holds the key to not only a series of violent occurrences in the city but also to what she unwittingly became involved in. The longer she refuses to share what she knows, the more precarious and dangerous the situation becomes for her and a host of others.

This series has been a hit with readers who enjoy police procedural novels. The action is condensed into five days (with flashbacks) and the story is told through fictional primary source materials such as police reports, phone messages, interviews and multiple points of view.
