Besides such options as being a model, designer or someone involved in actually making the clothing (pattern maker, fabric cutter, etc.), the author also includes material on fashion photography, public relations, and merchandising. The author incorporates question and answer sessions with individuals employed in these fashion related jobs, plus helpful material on what each position involves. You'll find websites to consult and a listing of where one can receive an education in each career. After reading this book the youngster will have more of an idea of what to expect and what abilities are required to pursue a career in this field. For a general overview and some solid advice, you couldn't find a better book on the fashion and design field. If you have a child interested in fashion and design, this would be an excellent book to read to learn more about the career possibilities and how to access more detailed information.
