Join the residents of this apartment building as they share a Shabbat meal of cholent. Goldie Simcha loves to dish up her family's traditional recipe for her neighbors and bring them all together around her kitchen table for a meal.

Unfortunately, when Goldie comes down with an illness, she will be unable to prepare the weekly meal. This is the point where each of the neighbors comes forward to prepare one of their favorite ethnic dishes which they all take up to Goldie's apartment to share with her.

An uplifting story that focuses on food, ethnic diversity and sharing, this is a picture book that underscores the importance of community (even in a big city) and how when we come together to share a meal, good things can happen.
