77 Things You Absolutely Have to do Before You Finish College    by Halley Bondy Order:  USA  Can Zest, 2014 (2014) Softcover, e-Book    Reviewed by Bob Walch I had high hopes for this book but my expectations were crushed as I paged through it and read the author's suggestions for a college bucket list. Maybe a fourth to a third of these ideas made sense, but the rest were questionable to say the least. Each of 'Take a class that has nothing to do with your major', 'Study abroad', and 'Turn off the outside world' (disconnect from electronics for an evening or day) is certainly good advice. But they are offset by things like: 'Prank your friends. Start an on-campus club. Go to a town council meeting' and 'Eat something weird.' Also I'm not sure I want to encourage someone to explain to a college kid how to tell his/her roommate to get lost so he/she can have sex in the room. Somehow I think they'll figure that out without help! So, all things considered, this book is not on my list of potential graduation gifts for folks heading off to college in the fall.
