Beautifully designed with an abundance of color photos, this guide will be an instant hit with any gardener. Each entry features the specimen's botanical name, common name, and plant family along with a general description of the genus and sections on cultivation and garden use.

Information about specific plants and cultivars, including time of flowering, size and hardiness make it easy for the reader to know which plants to set in a specific area and what to expect during the growing season.

The author begins with short chapters on Getting Started with Perennials, Designing with Perennials and Maintaining the Perennial Garden before she focuses on the individual plants.

Even if you don't reside in Washington, Oregon or British Columbia, I think you'll still find this a worthwhile book to have in your gardening library. The plant photography is quite exceptional!
