A picture book for children two years of age and older, The Tiny King introduces a very small king who lives in a very big, lonely castle. The tiny king is guarded by many big soldiers. He eats at a big table, sleeps in a big bed and bathes in a huge tub.

The tiny king is not having much fun and finds his existence less than satisfactory. All that changes one day, though, when the tiny king meets a big princess. He asks her to be his queen and she agrees. Soon they are blessed with lot of royal children.

Now the big castle and all its oversized furniture and rooms is just right. With such a big family the king needs all the extra space and, of course, he is no longer lonely. There's a lot going on now in the tiny king's life!

Although this story is a fun read, it is the bright, bold cutouts and the whimsical employment of the collage technique by Japanese artist Taro Miura that makes this such an attractive and eye-catching picture book. Miura is an award winning illustrator and graphic designer, whose work has been featured at the Bologna Illustrators' Exhibition. He's put together some very eye-appealing children's books.
