Larry's already been a tour guide in San Francisco, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Seattle. Once Pete and Larry cross the Benjamin Franklin Bridge that connects Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey, they drive past Citizens' Bank Park where the Phillies play and then stop for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. That's when Larry decides to do a little exploring on his own. The curious pup visits Betsy Ross's home, Christ Church Cemetery, the Liberty Bell, Independence Square and a number of other sites before finally being reunited with Pete outside the city's Museum of Art. Not only do the illustrations included in this book picture all these famous landmarks but you'll also find interesting facts about each one. For example, you'll discover that the Philadelphia Zoo opened in 1874 and is the first zoo in the U.S. and that the city hall was one of the tallest buildings in the world (548 feet) when it first opened in 1901. It is still the largest municipal building in the country. Children three years of age and older will enjoy this picture book and if you are planning a trip to Philly, this is a book the entire family should page through!
