I just finished Indivisible? by Paul Martin Midden. If you will excuse me, I am going around to the back of my home and start digging a bunker that my whole family can fit into. I know this thriller is a novel – fiction. But, wow, it is hard to shake off the concept.

The South Shall Rise Again sums up the premise of this book. Certain Southerners have a grandiose plan for all of the States to secede from the Union. Plans have been brewing for years. It will take money – and lots of it – to put them in motion. Guess who has come up with the idea? The wealthy 1% of the country. Apart from changing the government in the United States, this action would also swell the coffers of these already wealthy men. Guess who would then run our country? Sovereign Citizens, that's who - a group made up of Southern men.

Indivisible? uses the names of those already in the national government, so, at times, one must lift one's nose out of the book for a touch of reality. This almost reads like a history book instead of a thriller.

Will this actually happen? I prefer to think not. Could it actually happen? I prefer to think not. Will this give some crazy the idea to emulate the book? I prefer to think not. But my shovel is an old one. Have to go to the hardware store to buy three or four new ones. There are some strong men in the family. Just hope they don't all think Grams has gone around the bend.
