Melissa de La Cruz ends her best-selling series with one hell of a storyline. The Blue Bloods have never been in more danger than now when they must fight the ultimate evil: Satan himself. They struggle to find the Holy Grail in a final attempt to stop Satan and the Silver Bloods from opening the Gates of Promise and entering paradise. But finding the grail must involve the ultimate betrayal and the breaking of hearts, which may never be mended again.

Gates of Paradise is easily the best book in the Blue Bloods series. The novel alternates between the perspectives of various Blue Bloods and Will Bliss and the pack of werewolves. The novel is full of action as Mimi Force surfaces from the depths of Hell to secure the Holy Grail for Satan. Mimi knows her actions will appear as the worst kind of betrayal to the Blue Bloods, but as the evil one threatens her coven, she will do what she must to save those she loves. Schuyler must confront her past when she discovers that her human father still lives. Not only must Schuyler find the truth about her father, but she must also choose between saving the Blue Bloods or saving Jack.

Mimi Force has never stopped loving Kingsley, but when she sees him again, she is convinced Kingsley no longer loves her. Still, Mimi has a mission to secure the Holy Grail. Mimi's heart breaks when she realizes she must fight the love of her life for the grail. Melissa de La Cruz also delights readers with the story of the union of Archangel Gabrielle with Satan in the fifteenth century. Readers are whisked to a far away time as Gabrielle is torn between the memory of Lucifer and her true love, Archangel Michael.

Melissa de La Cruz impresses her fans on every page. Gates of Paradise is by far the best book in the series. This finale is like The Da Vinci Code, but with vampires, archangels, and Satan. Readers will love the action, the romance, the angst, and the fabulous writing!
