Anya and Laurel, friends of retired nun Giulia Falcone, experience a disaster and come to her for help. Their adopted daughter has been kidnapped. They're desperately trying to raise the money the kidnappers have asked for her return.

Their worst fear is that no matter what they do, their daughter will die because someone thinks their gay relationship is an abomination. Another child in the same situation was returned dead, but the police insist the kidnappings aren't related.

Falcone wants to jump right into the investigation, but her partner, Frank Driscoll, thinks the case belongs with the police department. But the police don't seem to be doing anything and time is running out.

Giulia goes undercover at a Lesbian resort in this third book in the Falcone and Driscoll Investigations series. Giulia and Frank's professional partnership often interferes with their personal relationship. Guilia is learning relationship strategies from Cosmopolitan magazine, but their ideas may be more a hindrance than helpful advice.
