Reissued in a new mid-size hardcover edition, this tale of some cookies' encounter with Santa is well on its way to classic status.

It is Christmas Eve and Jim and his mother have left some gingerbread men on a plate by the tree for Santa to nibble on. But Captain Cookie, complete with a toothpick peg leg and gingerbread cutlass, is not happy with the situation.

Jim keeps Captain Cookie close to his bed because he is the child's favorite cookie. When everyone has retired for the night, though, Captain Cookie embarks on a daring adventure to rescue his crew. He's heard of a sinister cannibal named Santa and hopes to spare his men the ignominious fate of being Santa's snack.

What follows is a delicious account that transforms the encounter between Mr. Claus and the pirates into a very memorable holiday story. Everyone in the family will enjoy sharing this swashbuckling Christmas tale for years to come!
