Seventeen-year-old Cami Glass isn't your ordinary teenager although she works at making others believe she is. Cami shares thoughts with a boy she's known all her life, but never met in person. When she was little people thought Jared was her imaginary friend. That was cute. As Cami grew older, talking to an imaginary friend was not cute. It was creepy. She began hiding her conversations with Jared. She wasn't even sure she believed in him, but he was always there. Always in her head.

Sorry-in-the-Vale is a great place to grow up, but that all changes when the Lynburns come home to their manor overlooking the sleepy little town, after living in America for seventeen years. The townsfolk don't welcome the return of the Lynburns. In fact, they've lived in fear that they would return, but no one will tell Cami why. Even her mother insists that Cami stay away from them. When Cami meets Jared Lynburn at school, she knows she'll never be able to stay away from the Lynburns. Jared Lynburn is her Jared, the voice in her head. He's part of her life and there's nothing she can do about it.

Cami is confident, energetic and already working on becoming a serious journalist. This year she's writing, editing and publishing the first school newspaper with the reluctant help of her best friend Angela. Soon there are other members of the staff including Jared Lynburn and his look-alike cousin, Ash.

Unspoken is a great beginning to The Lynburn Legacy series. Cami is a character who dazzles. Jared is the misunderstood bad boy. When you put them together with his cousin, Ash, you have a terrific love triangle. I look forward to the next book.
