There are a lot of paranormal comics and graphic novels, but none take the lighthearted approach that Andre R. Frattino does in The Reaper of St. George Street, the first in The Adventures of Fagler's Few St. Augustine's Ghost Hunters series. This is a fun, fast-paced read full of supernatural chills.

Will Garring has moved to St. Augustine, Florida, for college. Although he is now living in one of the most haunted cities, he does not believe in ghosts. All that changes though when a mystery surrounding his love interest, Claire, makes him the target of a reaper. Now with an odd array of new friends, Will must find a way to defeat the reaper and save Claire.

Normally, a ghost story tends be on the scary side, and a supernatural graphic novel would most likely verge on the macabre. Frattino bucks convention with his open and bright black and white illustrations that make The Reaper of St. George Street feel more like a campy ghost story than a horror tale.

The artwork may be inconsistent in some places, but the story is strong, and most of all, fun. Wannabe ghost hunters, teens and up, will enjoy The Reaper of St. George Street and look forward to where Andre R. Frattino takes The Adventures of Fagler's Few St. Augustine's Ghost Hunters next.
