This modern day thriller finds Russian officials bent on destabilizing the Ukraine with the intent of bringing the young, newly democratic country back under the control of Moscow.

Standing in the way of this insidious plot that will be carried out by the clandestine Department S, which few people even know exists, will be Burt Miller, head of the private intelligence firm dubbed Cougar, and his most lethal operative, Anna Resnikov, a former colonel in the KGB.

Even though Anna will put her life on the line to help on this assignment, she is more than willing to do so because of her past. Her husband died at the hands of her former employers and this Russian beauty seeks vengeance.

Once in the Ukraine, the resourceful agent will be pitted against a formidable and mysterious KGB agent whose aims and goals are as unclear as his identity is difficult to unmask.

With the survival of the nation at stake and her own life in jeopardy, Anna Resnikov is going to have to be at her very best to bring this assignment to a successful conclusion.

Alex Dryden is the real deal. A former spy and international security expert turned novelist, he knows what he's writing about and is able to wring every ounce of suspense and riveting action from his authentic thrillers.
