Cody Parker has a pretty full plate and being overweight is just part of the problem. The youngster has just moved to Baltimore and his new classmates can't resist making a few comments about his size. Cody is also competing for a spot on the local Babe Ruth League team against Dante Rizzo, a rather nasty youngster who has real hoodlum potential.

Since Cody is the better third baseman, the two will be butting heads continually, which means plenty of friction which is going to make fitting in on his new team much more difficult.

Then there's the problem of a rash of mysterious thefts at Cody's new school. Will this mini crime wave sideline Cody as someone tries to make him the scapegoat? Will his team's entire season be jeopardized because of one person's attempt to seek revenge?

Fitting in is always a challenging task for a youngster when he or she moves into a new community, but for Cody Parker the job takes on epic proportions as you'll see as you read this entertaining baseball story. Readers eight years of age and older will unquestionably be able to empathize with the central character of this novel and enjoy watching him overcome all the obstacles placed in his path.
