same old, same old
at the start - wife discovers evidence that her beloved (but manipulative) husband might have killed someone; what should she do? But the story quickly turns into a wheels-within-wheels psychological mystery, all from Kate Forman's point of view.
er nightmare begins when her husband Paul, '
the most wonderful man on the planet
', arrives home drunk, covered in blood, and calling on her for help. He says, '
I killed her ...
' The next morning he claims that he ran over a dog. When Kate learns that a rising filmmaker, Melody Graham (whom Paul knew) was stabbed that night, her concern grows and she begins to try to find out the details of where her husband was all that evening. When questioned by police officers, Kate supports Paul but continues to worry and wonder. She digs herself deeper and deeper and eventually becomes a murder suspect herself.
here are other deaths and danger up close and personal before bloodhound Kate sorts it all out - or does she? Though I found it hard to like the leads very much,
is an intriguing mystery, cleverly written.
