Since young children are usually curious about the weather, this lift the flaps and pull the tabs activity book should be a big hit. When you open the book the first thing you'll have to do is help Maisy open her window. When you do you'll see blue sky and the sun popping out from behind a white cloud.

'It's a sunny day. Hooray!' exclaims the little white mouse, so she's off to the beach. Pull the tab and you'll help Maisy change into her swim suit when she goes into the beach cabana.

The next page shows a winter day and it looks like it is about to snow. Pull another tab and you'll see a big cloud dump a whole lot of snow on Maisy. It is a good thing she is dressed warmly.

Each two page spread features a different kind of day or time of the year, which means the weather conditions are always changing. As you turn a wheel Maisy's hat will fly off and her kite will whizz by. Pull the tab on the next page to see lightning flash outside her window and then the next page has a rainbow.

For a simple introduction to different types of weather this activity book will expose toddlers to some basic concepts and give them the opportunity to use their little fingers too. Be sure to help the youngster with the directions which indicate which way to pull the tab or spin the wheel. I have to sheepishly admit one or two pages stumped me for a short while. Either these books are getting more complicated or I'm losing brain cells as I age!
