Here is one very cool book! In celebrating differences the author not only challenges the reader to find one item in a picture that is different from all the rest, but the child will also learn how to say 'Can you find me?' in sixteen different languages.

Each picture page contains different items or animals (kites, cars, leaves, cats, etc.). But if you look carefully you'll discover one of them is different. For example, colors might vary, perhaps all the cats are walking except the one that is sitting or all the stars have five points but one which has six.

The accompanying language page highlights the featured language and the key phrase with a pronunciation key. 'Peux-tu me trouver?' reads one of the entries. Beneath it is a short paragraph that tells something about the language and highlights a few words in English that come from that language. 'Ballet, caterpillar, and machine are words you might know that come from French.'

Working on a number of levels, this is a fun book to read, that looks at differences in a number of unusual ways. There's even a page for American Sign Language that features the correct way of signing the book's key question.

Appropriate for children five years of age and older, because of the language component this is a book that older youngsters and adults will also find interesting. Some of the less common languages include Cree, Gullah, Hindi, Nahuatl, Swahili and Navajo.
