After their dramatic exit from the wedding, Adel and Grayfriar are on the run from Senator Clark and his army plus in danger from the army of vampires, led by Grayfriar's brother. Adel is destined to be a great geomancer, but her training is not complete. If she can bring the energy of the earth under her control, she can bring death to the vampires.
