Teachers and parents home schooling their children will find 49 techniques that will put students on the path to college in this helpful guide.

The approach outlined by the Managing Director of Uncommon Schools relies heavily on what he has observed watching successful teachers and on his analysis of why some teachers can transform at risk youngsters into solid achievers.

Lemov divides his techniques into seven broad categories that include Setting High Academic Standards, Structuring and Delivering Your Lessons, Creating a Strong Classroom Culture and Setting and Maintaining High Behavioral Expectations.

Appropriate for K-12 grade levels, anyone working with young people in a classroom setting can find material here that will enhance their teaching performance and that of their students.

The author believes that great teachers are not born that way; they can be fashioned into effective and inspirational educators if they receive the right guidance. Obviously, he thinks that this volume will provide that transforming assistance. It can't do any harm and, yes, it could certainly help some folks!
