The sequel to her first book about life in a small Alaskan town entitled If You Lived Here I'd Know Your Name, this memoir centers on the author's experiences after a near fatal accident.

Surviving a bicycle-truck collision that occurred in Haines was a laborious chore. Having to spend months in Seattle recuperating was just part of the dilemma that the author faced. Her continued recovery at home was a community effort, as family and friends labored to get Lende back on her feet both physically and spiritually.

Dealing with a series of setbacks and coping with all the changes the accident brought about in her life provide the subject matter for much of this narrative.

By drawing on faith and the strength of those around her, Lende soon learns to grow, to forgive and to rejoice. It's not an easy journey but certainly one that anyone who is forced to deal with some type of adversity must face. The author's insights might make this experience easier for others who follow her.
