Criminal defense attorney Mary Magruder Katz is trying to do her best in Miami's court system to find a young man arrested as a terrorist. She has been asked to represent him, but he has disappeared into the murky depths of being questioned by government agents.

Judge Liz Maxwell has been accused of going easy on drug offenders in her court. She enlists Mary's help in clearing her name. Mary's boyfriend Carlos is being sued by prospective tenants of the condo he is building. They want to live in the unfinished units now. These three cases demand Mary's time and to top it off she is being stalked! Enough is enough.

Justice in June is a delightful book written by an ex-judge with a wonderful sense of humor. It offers a look behind the scenes of courtrooms and law offices and makes a great summer read for the beach, boat or mountains.

Author Barbara Levenson (who also wrote Fatal February) serves as a senior judge in the circuit court of Miami-Dade County, with a long career in law paving the way. She and her husband also bred and raised show German Shepherd Dogs which explains Mary's great dog Sam. This is a fun book. I hope more in the series are being penned for future reads.
