This pop-up book offers a rollicking introduction to the grotesque world of Flanimals. A Flanimal is a creature that defies description. They include Sprengled Humpdumblers, Oyngless Larbs, Spuzz Gups and Helm Grinders.

'This pop-up book can only add to the indignity of being a Flanimal. In vibrant living color we will draw attention to this pointless bunch of ugly creatures,' explains Ricky Gervais. 'Your ridicule and disgust at their vulgar and futile existence will only be surpassed by the hatred and shame they feel for themselves. But remember - it is better to have popped-up than to have never popped-up at all.'

On the first two page spread you actually meet five Flanimals who pop-up and share their distinctive characteristics. In fact, this may be some type of a pop-up record but no matter, for this is a book that is filled with surprises from start to finish.

You'll meet Flanimals of the air and the deep, plus you'll see some smashing examples of striking Flanimal behavior. But, Gervais saves the best or most bizarre collection of these strange creatures for the last spread. Here you'll encounter the recent discoveries of Flanimals. This will undoubtedly be the first time you've been able to get up close and personal with a Gwank, Gog Proddler, Squeeg, Puddler and, my favorite, a genuine Strankulator.

The paper engineering that went into this fantastic book is truly remarkable and not only will children five years of age and older love this book, but I have a feeling many adults will also find it very entertaining. If you collect pop-up books, this is a must purchase and don't wait too long; I have a feeling this one won't last long on shelves!
