Porter Goss, former Director of the CIA, calls Andre Le Gallo's The Caliphate 'A tale of intrigue too frightening to believe Ė and too believable to ignore. But you had better believe it, because Le Gallo is the real thing'. Barry A. Goodfield, Director of the Goodfield Foundation, writes that 'No one can talk the talk better than a man who really walked the walk for us. Now Le Gallo's in from the cold and at his typewriter, putting us on a hot trail that still balances fact and fiction.'

Le Gallo's career spanned thirty years with the CIA. He is a veteran of several coups, a war and a revolution. He served in the Middle East, South East Asia, North and West Africa and Eastern and Western Europe. His credits go on and on. I felt it was necessary to inform readers of his service to his country so that they would realize that while portions of the book are fiction, a great deal of it relates fact.

Le Gallo combines the two to present a suspenseful, terrifying, intriguing thriller that will keep the reader up at night long past bedtime Ė first to read the book and then to cower under the covers wondering just what is going to happen next in the global community. And will it reach U.S. shores? He is open in his feelings about the way information valuable to U.S. security is funneled to the proper recipient. And how the info can sit on someone's desk for several days while it should have been given top priority. He also points out the non-communication of various departments Ė a point that has always made me uneasy.

The Caliphate is a global Muslim empire. A Muslim group has declared they will stop at nothing to achieve what they consider their destiny. Steve Church goes undercover to foil the group's ambitions. Exciting reading. This is a must-read book that will almost make you sorry you have read it. More than I can handle. But if exciting is your bag, donít miss it. Even if it isnít your bag, itís still a mesmerizing tale. One that will stay with you.
