Lee McKinney, while planning her wedding, is shocked to find that her mother ran away from her own wedding and her fiancé was found that same day, a suicide!

Talk about being shocked. Lee had come to the same resort town of Warner Pier to recover from a bad marriage. She works in her aunt's chocolate shop, Ten Huis Chocolade, whose hand-made chocolates are all the rage in town. Lee suffers from a speech impediment which has her using wrong words at times, especially when she is flustered.

Because Lee is planning a second wedding, she invites her mother to the nuptials. Big surprise, her mother will come but asks if the old sheriff is still around. He is in a nursing home but is found murdered. Of course, Lee must investigate. What she discovers is more than she really wants to know.

While readers enjoy an amusing mystery, they are also treated to descriptions of marvelous hand-made chocolate, such as: mocha pyramid bonbon - 'a milky coffee-flavored interior in a dark chocolate pyramid' and an 'all-milk chocolate truffle flavored with Caribbean coffee'.

One researched fact leads to another as Lee tries to discover why her mother left town over thirty years ago, not to return until Lee's wedding. The Chocolate Bridal Bash is a delightful, quickly read chocoholic mystery.
