Sammy Greene attends an ultraconservative college in New England. Seeking a degree in journalism, she takes on the task of hosting The Hot Line, a radio talk show on campus. Not afraid to tackle the most controversial issues facing the student body of Ellsford, she investigates whatever she feels needs to be brought to light.

Such as three suicides on campus, one quickly followed by another. Also, students have been disappearing. What's going on? Can't be just happenstance. There must be a common thread running through the tragedies. Throw in a trouble-making televangelist for good measure and you have the makings of a great plot.

Authors Deborah Shlian and Linda Reid collaborated to produce a fast-moving, suspenseful novel that keeps the senses alert throughout. Top-secret research on an experimental AIDS vaccine precipitates problems that Sammy runs to the ground, regardless of danger to herself and estrangement with her boyfriend. Sammy's a gutsy girl. Afraid to break and enter, she nevertheless squares her shoulders and gets the job done. She believes that if you want something badly enough, you must put in the work to accomplish your goal - legal or illegal.
