This lyrical text extols Halloween and all the fun that goes into preparing for trick or treat time. The featured family hangs dried corn on their front door, cuts out paper witches and skeletons to decorate the inside of the house, and carves a huge pumpkin.

As the 3lst draws near, the parents help their two children create their Halloween costumes. Finally it's time to venture out into the neighborhood. And, amid laughter and shrieks, the youngsters go from house to house collecting their treats.

Once again safe at home, the kids dump out their sweet loot, share some with mom and dad, and then head off to bed.

Holly Meade's distinctive, collage illustrations for this evocative picture book capture the excitement of Halloween and make this a story young and old alike will enjoy reading again and again.
