First Henry avoids her phone calls. Zoe's friends tell her not to worry, but she can't help it. She begins analyzing the time they've spent together. What did she miss? Why didn't he tell her he loves her, too, when she told him?

Three weeks later, after six months of dating, comes the breakup. 'It's a not you, it's me,' he tells her. It's all over. Or so Henry says. But Zoe thinks otherwise.

Zoe's friends try to stop her from doing things she'll regret later. Don't hide in the bushes of his house to flip poems into his room. Don't leave him poetic love letters in his locker. But what do they know? They aren't in relationships.

Zoe becomes a stalker. When she thinks Henry is starting a new relationship, she talks to the girl. She talks to his friends. No one will talk to her about Henry.

Readers even those who've never done the things Zoe does will understand her desire to hold on to Henry, her first love. Zoe's story ends with a touch of realism for Zoe and the readers. Zoe Gill remembers who she was before Henry.
