A wonderful picture book for children ten years of age and older, this is the tale of a little boy on a journey. As the little boy grows older, he becomes curious about the world around him. Soon he embarks on a journey. He meets a wise cat, a rabbit and other creatures along the way.

'Some parts of the journey were easy, and some were very difficult.' At times the small boy felt totally lost and he almost quit. Fortunately, another path appeared, the child followed it and the journey became a little easier. Other obstacles such as a tangled swamp and a river blocked his way. Rather than be discouraged and give up, the boy looked up, saw his star and followed it onward.

Reaching the ocean, the youngster thought perhaps the journey was now finally completed. But then he looked out toward the horizon. 'The star glowed steadily, reminding him that he still had a long journey ahead. But it was his own journey, his very own wonderful journey.'

Not only is this an appropriate book for children still in school, but it would also make a very nice gift for a graduate, anyone starting a new career, or a person who needs encouragement after experiencing some difficult times. This new edition of a well loved fable is as valid today as it was when first published in 1997.
