Imagination is celebrated in a classroom setting in this picture book out of Australia. Mr. Judd encourages his students (kindergartners perhaps?) to make use of the dress-up box. One day he announces that the school is hosting a costume parade.

For the remainder of the book, the children are excitedly planning their outfits - which include magical creatures such as fairies or wizards, a clown, a race car driver, and anything else they can dream up - for the parade. The only child who seems confused about what he should wear to the costume parade is Sacha.

In the end, Sacha decides to be a little bit of everything, and while his costume isn't instantly recognizable, he certainly takes the prize for creativity.

This book, containing softly shaded pencil sketches, will appeal to younger children who love to dress up; it also incorporates a larger theme about individuality.
