'It was coming up quick - the best time of year. / That magical season all children hold dear.' It's a busy time of year for all the children and Priscilla's friend Bettina suggests they go shopping. They find 'Shoppers buzzed like a hive full of bees. / Balancing boxes stacked up high as trees ... The air was awaft with puddings and cakes. / But wherever they turned stood Santa Claus FAKES.' Priscilla decides they must find the real Mr. Claus. So they plan a trip to the North Pole and get on with it the next morning, skiing north led by Bettina's dog Fluffball. They meet all kinds of unusual north country creatures (including an Abominable Snowgirl) and then are warned to turn back to avoid 'the fifty-year storm!' Do they? Of course not, not this intrepid duo. Returning home and sorting through their photos, Priscilla and Bettina get a big surprise, one that makes it 'a perfectly magical Christmas Eve night!' Priscilla fans will delight in adding this exuberant picture book to their holiday collection.
