This cute picture book offers a twist on the 'who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?' rhyme.

A mother kangaroo is about to bake some cookies, when she looks in the bowl to discover that all the cookie dough has mysteriously disappeared. She asks a lion, who in turn asks another animal, and so on, until the culprit is eventually discovered (hint: he lives in his mother's pouch).

Preschool-aged children will enjoy following along with this book, told in a simple, sing-song voice:
'Lion, Lion,
Do you know
Who ate all the cookie dough?

I don't know,
It wasn't me.
Maybe Zebra,
Let's go see ...

The illustrations depict animals with highly expressive (and adorable) faces. This is a nice read-aloud that will invariably lead to a request for cookies ...
