A doctor of forty years, Peter Gott is frequently asked for a simple, foolproof way to lose weight. In response, he developed a diet, as described in his pervious book, Dr. Gott's No Flour, No Sugar Diet.

Now he brings us a cookbook, whose inexpensive and nutritious recipes are made with many basic ingredients that are commonly kept on hand. Dr. Gott also offers advice, such as on: understanding carbohydrates; the downfalls of fad diets; and recommended staples to stock in the pantry. He encourages the reader to experiment and substitute ingredients and spices (as long as they do not contain flour or sugar!)

Cookbook categories include Breakfast, Snacks, Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Wraps, Entrees, Side Dishes and Desserts. The cookbook is designed to allow you to create a well-rounded meal. Sample recipes include: Tastes Like Cookie Dough Oatmeal, Pico de Gallo and Homemade Tortilla Chips, Mini Quiches, Two-Tone Melon Soup, Potato Salad, Philly Cheese Steak Wrap, Red Wine Chops, No Flour/No Sugar Pizza, Pureed Cauliflower and Banana Oatmeal Cookies.

If you are looking for a way to curb your sweet tooth while eliminating the empty calories found in sugar and flour - this may be the cookbook (and diet) for you.
