hen Helen catches her husband having sex with her next door neighbor she wants to kill him, but she restrains herself and kills his SUV instead. After all she paid for it. The divorce court judge doesn't see it that way. Since Rob hadn't worked for years he is considered a house husband and the judge awards him half of Helen's salary as alimony. Rather than pay, Helen goes on the lam to Florida where she works low-paying jobs, being paid off the books so Rob and the cops can't find her.

she works as a maid at the Full Moon Hotel in her adopted home of Fort Lauderdale. When she finds the body of a fellow maid in the dumpster Helen has more than one reason to worry about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Deadbeat husband Rob has managed to track Helen to Florida and is staying in the same hotel where Helen is a maid. With the help of her co-workers she manages to dodge him while keeping her job, but how long will this last with a murder investigation going on?
elen's quirky supporting characters have a lot to do with the success of the
series. They are always there for Helen, and with each book readers get to know them a little better, as Helen trusts them with more and more of her past.
