A Seed Is Sleepy is a wonderful follow-up to An Egg is Quiet. Aston again attributes human sensitivities to explain the different paths that seeds take to grow into a plant.

A seed might be generous, inventive, adventurous, thirsty, or hungry. Musical text introduces each type of seed while older children will also enjoy the additional seed and plant facts that are sure to invite questions and discussion.

Long's beautiful watercolor illustrations enhance Aston's text and include charts of seeds and their growth into the plants they will become. A Seed Is Sleepy offers an introduction to the plant world for children, kindergarten age and up.
