In My Reality Check Bounced!, Jason Ryan Dorsey does an excellent job of presenting 'The Twentysomething's Guide to Cashing In on Your Real-World Dreams'. He dedicates the book to those 'who bravely leave the paved path to pursue their authentic path' and intersperses sage advice with examples of many who have done so. At the end of each chapter is an Instant Message, summarizing the issue discussed, the Bounced perspective and the Cashed viewpoint (glass half empty/half full contrasts).

The author offers tools and questionnaires for envisioning a future, about which you can feel strongly - 'Finding your passion will light a fire in your belly that will bring more joy and meaning to your life than any award or accomplishment.' He emphasizes that opportunity is everywhere with the right mind-set, and that networking is invaluable. He explains how to improve the signals you send out, and how to read other people correctly. He underlines the importance of meeting commitments, being true to your word. He talks about getting past painful events, learning from them, and writing a new ending. He agrees that life's often unfair, compares Criers Vs. Triers, and delves into facing fears. He encourages living a balanced, ethical life.

Dorsey concludes by telling readers, 'You can settle for safe, uninspired existence, and continue to let your reality check bounce, or you can rise to the challenge by making your life as grand as you imagine.' Have a friend or relative whose life seems in the doldrums? Encourage them to read My Reality Check Bounced! and to live their passion.
