Steve Solomon - a slightly shady lawyer - and his lady love Victoria Lord - not slightly shady but a lawyer nonetheless - have nothing more demanding on their plates than where they should live when they move in together. Suddenly their world tilts as an old client of Steve's starts bashing him on the air waves. Life takes an even deeper tilt when he's arrested for assault - twice!

Action escalates from there at a fast pace - ending with a spectacular climax. What's even better about this book than the action are the characters. And I mean that in the deepest sense of the word - these characters are characters. Victoria's mother is a real treat as she undergoes a bikini wax. Steve's nephew (whom Steve rescued from a dog cage) is a damaged twelve-year old with a lightening fast mind. Steve's father has rediscovered Judaism in his latter years, but this does not detract from his teaching his grandson the grosser facts of life. And Steve's receptionist is a body builder who wrestles with her probation officer.

Don't waste a moment of your reading time. Obtain all three - Solomon Vs. Lord, Deep Blue Alibi, and Kill All the Lawyers - of this wonderfully entertaining series. The laughs are belly laughs; the suspenseful moments will grab you by the throat; the courtroom scenes are brilliant. Since Paul Levine is a former trial lawyer, I assume he is pulling from his own cases. The author is at work on his fourth of this thrilling series, with plots for more hopefully richocheting off the walls of his skull. I want more. The good news is that CBS-TV have optioned the film rights for the first two books.
