Simple rhymes accompany bright, energetic illustrations in My Pop Pop and Me, a picture book that celebrates the close, loving, mentoring relationship between grandfather and grandchild.

It begins, 'Lool look / my Pop Pop's a cook / Pat pat / I love my chef's hat' as the pair prepare to bake a favorite cake. Under Pop Pop's supervision, the child squeezes a lemon, measures ingredients, sifts flour, blends batter, tastes and scrapes, spills and wipes some - and watches the cake go into the oven.

They cool, decorate, slice, ice, and taste that delicious lemon cake together (there's a recipe in the back of the book), and end with a big hug as the child chants ... 'I bop bop hop hop / For my top top Pop Pop'.
