Farmer Brown's mischievous farm animals are at it again. In Cronin's first book, Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type (a Caldecott Honor book), the animals demanded first class treatment for everyone - such as electric blankets and pizza for dinner. Duck takes over as the ringleader in both Click Clack Moo and its successor, Giggle Giggle Quack.

In Click Clack Splish Splash, the animals team up once again, this time to free the goldfish trapped in the aquarium. As usual, Duck leads the pack, sneaking past the napping Farmer Brown. All of the animals work together, counting as they go. Once again, Farmer Brown is outsmarted by his clever animals, as the goldfish are released into the pond. Even the cows from Click Clack Moo make an appearance, utilizing their typing skills to write a Gone Fishing note for Farmer Brown.

The text and concepts are simple, as they are geared toward the youngest of children. Those familiar with Cronin's other books will laugh as they realize that Farmer Brown has once again been outsmarted by his clever farm animals. Lewin's illustrations are true to her unique style, with bold outlines, soft watercolors and almost child-like characterizations.
