This book shows the lifetime journey of B. B. King, through his music and stories from his personal life. Riley 'B. B.' King has been called the 'King of the Blues', and indeed he reigns across the decades as one of the pre-eminent figures in the medium.

He is best-known for his distinctive single-note guitar sound, played on a guitar that he calls Lucille, in which he bends strings till the notes seem to cry. It is a style that emanates from his blues roots deep in Mississippi, while also drawing on influences ranging from jazz and gospel to pop and rock. Primary influences include guitarists T-Bone Walker and Charlie Christian, who similarly hybridized jazz and blues in a big-band context. The volume also includes rare personal memorabilia, such as a replica poster from one of King's many performences.

Now eighty years young, B. B. King offers this heartfelt account of his brilliant career. Each page is filled with photos and writings by the musician himself, giving the book an intimate feeling. An audio CD of interviews and musical recordings is also enclosed. The B. B. King Treasures is truly a pleasure to read, and listen to.
