Children keep disappearing in the small town of Redford and nobody knows why or what has happened to them. Bryan Holden is there when his older brother disappears - Bryan knows that Adam was taken by the Dark Man.

Five lonely years after Adam's disappearance, Bryan meets Stephen and Jake. They are the first people Bryan has met who will talk about what is going on in Redford, the anxiety of the townspeople, and the Dark Man. The adults of Redford can't see the Dark Man, and won't even look. The children can, but most won't admit that what they are seeing is real. Jake has been studying the history of Redford, and together the boys work to discover who and what the Dark Man is. Can they defeat the evil that has fed on Redford's children for decades or will they too become victims?

Devil's Footsteps has everything you hope to find in a ghost story. The town is creepy, the Dark Man is terrifying, and the suspense level is enormous. If anything, the tension is turned up too high for too long, making the ending a little less exciting than it could be. But for readers who enjoy scary tales - this is one you won't want to miss.
