Have you ever looked upward on a clear night (as I have) and marveled at the beauty so far above you? And maybe wished you knew more about what was before your eyes? Wished you could put names to those lovely lights winking at you? If you are like me, you didn't know where to find the information you were looking for. And then night turned to day and you forgot your wish.

Mike Lynch's Pennsylvania Starwatch: The Essential Guide to Our Night Sky can put an end to your speculation as to whether you were looking at, say, the Big Dipper or not. Lynch has been called 'America’s Master Stargazing Instructor.' Anything you ever wanted to know about the night sky – and a whole lot more – can be found in this easy to read and understand compendium of the heavens. With its loose-leaf format, the book can be opened and stay open at any page. Beautiful photos of the night sky in all four seasons will knock your socks off. The images of planets are spectacular. I especially love various pictures of the planet Saturn on page 113.

I cannot synopsize this book and do it justice. It is a reference you will want to keep handy and pore over as you familiarize yourself with that wonderful phenomenon - the night sky.
