The back cover includes a rhyme with a picture of a teddy and zebra, 'A hug is always fun to share - so give a hug to show you care.' Susie Poole's illustrations are exceptional pencil and watercolor pictures, tempting the small reader to touch each character and item displayed. Each figure is large size, vividly catching the eye in different rooms of the house and out-of-doors. Children and rosy-cheeked adults hug each other, including teddies and bunnies in their embraces. Hugs is a delightful book for parents to read over-and-over while hugging children, and children to read while hugging parents, sisters and brothers, grandparents, and friends.
